The goal of third grade is to help create organized,

responsible learners.




Language Arts:  Reading Workshop

Students should bring home the Book Buddy Bag every night to read for at least 20 minutes.

Students are expected to be ‘stopping & jotting’ thoughts and reactions as they read.

In class, students will participate in whole class lesson and individual and/or small group reading.

 

Language Arts:  Writing Workshop

Students will learn opinion, information, and narrative writing.

Students will keep a personal writing journal in class.

They will be encourage to:

Write many sentences, at least a page a day.

Add details with sequence transition words.

Use lots of punctuation.

Students are expected to be fluent in basic addition & subtraction facts in preparation for multiplication.
