Month of Respect

Respect

October 2, 2020

Dear Parents,

This week all across the state of New Jersey schools will be recognizing the Week of Respect. This is such a relevant value for our children to be learning about, especially at this critical time in our country. It is so important that the school and the home work together to show our children how important treating others the way you want to be treated can impact everyone. Though we have this week full of activities, songs and stories, Respect is emphasized all year round at Intervale.

I have included a video that was made by some of our fifth graders which will be shown Monday morning to kick off the week.  Please take a moment to see what a great job they have done.  Please take this opportunity to talk to your child/children about how important it is to have respect for themselves and others.  I have also attached a sheet for some talking points when you do sit down with your child/children and, only if you would like, an activity for home.

Please have your child/children wear their Bully Free, Intervale or blue shirts for World Bully Prevention Day on Monday, October 5th.

Thanks so much for your help with this.
